Hey guys, this is Tony from Plumbers Coach here. Look, do you have lots of reworks and call backs on site, you find that your guys make the same mistakes over and over again and it’s really frustrating and doing your head in?
If that’s the case, then something in this issue today will be super helpful.
Now are you checking your jobs more than you have time for and you just think your guys should be able to remember what you tell them, even though you have told them over and over again and you just can’t seem to?
Well do you wonder why some of the plumbers and sparkies that you know can leave their jobs be run by their team, they can get off-site, work on the business, perhaps even spend some time fishing or just chilling out?
Now how can they do this? Well, the answer is in one word, that word is “Systems”. Now systems stand for saving you stress time effort and money. The way to run a business is to have the systems run the business, then your team runs the systems and your job is to lead the team.
Now systems work when you write stuff down. So you’ve got to take what’s in your head, get it on paper so other people can follow it. If it’s not written down guys, it ain’t a system.
Now developing your systems is a key part of our six part million-dollar plumbers system. And you need systems both off-site and in the office; and checklists are a great example of a system. So I just want to share with you one simple checklist that can be crucial to help you get more out of your jobs and stop that rework and the callback.
They are quality assurance checklists. Now these are checklists that the guys can use when they are on site to make sure that all the key tasks are done on the job. Now we’ve got an example today that you can download, it’s called a pre-line checklist that you can use with the key foreman or the key tradesman on site can use to make sure that everything is covered up, so that you don’t have to tell them everything, that you don’t have to check everything.
Now it’s going to solve 95% of the problems and boost your margins and free up some of your time. It really just stops stuff from being forgotten. Now the key with systems, it’s going to take some hard work at the start, you’ve got to brainstorm what to write down and get the team to help you to check it out. Then get the guys to run through it and see if it works. But once it’s done once, it’s going to save you a mass amount of time in the long term.
So what I suggest you do is click on the “Download” button and I will shoot out an example of a preline checklist for you and then you can use it to version for other parts of your business as well.
So guys, get writing the systems and down, invest the time and effort into it, it’s going to save you a mass amount of time in the future.
Now if you found this helpful, I would love to hear any questions you’ve got, just jot them in the check box below or any comments you’ve got to make.
Hey guys, hope you found it helpful and I look forward to catching up with you again next time.
